Description of Apilco 12-Ounce Porcelain Souffle Dish

In classic white, with traditional soufflé-dish straight sides, ribbed exterior, and collar, this dish (4-1/2 inches in diameter by 1-3/4 inches high) is ideal for baking soufflés or crème brûlée. Since Apilco porcelain is stovetop-safe, the sugar crust on crème brûlée can be melted under a broiler or with a kitchen blowtorch. The dish has many other uses: bake any custard, crisp or cobbler; pack with rillettes or other pâté; mold aspics; chill mousses. At a party or at holidays, set it out with nuts or candies. At the table, it's wonderful for jam, condiments like aioli, and even cereal and ice cream. Stoveside, it holds salt or pepper, herbs or spices.
